To promote Virginia Tech throughout the state, across America, and around the world, the on-campus University Bookstore & off-campus Volume Two Bookstore along with the Virginia Tech Department of Licensing and Trademarks is announcing the fifth annual "Crazy for the Hokies" event. This year’s event is the “Crazy for the Hokiemobiles” Contest, open to any vehicle owner to decorate their car, truck, or RV with Hokie logos and colors in the wildest, most outlandish, craziest way possible. This might include a maroon car with orange racing stripes…or even a colossal Hokie Bird painted on the hood. The possibilities are limitless for all Hokie fans to show that they are "Crazy for the Hokies” but they will have to show it for THREE CONSECUTIVE DAYS!
Contest Outline
Date: August 21, 2009 to November 13, 2009. The entry form and photographs must be received by November 13, 2009.
Eligible to enter: Participants must be over the age of 21 and own the car, truck, or RV they are decorating. The decorations have to be on for a minimum of three days and this must be verified by a witness.
Judging: Contestants will be judged by a panel of university officials using photographs of the car, truck, or RV provided with the entry form. Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- The creativity and the uniqueness of the logos and colors reproduced.
- The size of the logos reproduced.
- Overall CRAZY HOKIE appearance of the car, truck, or RV.
Prizes: The winners will be announced at halftime of the NC State football game (November 21, 2009). The prize winning entry photos will be shown on the Hokievision (Jumbotron).
